Viktor Medvedchuk, accused of state treason, disagreed with the decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which denied him the restoration of his certificate to practice law. He appealed this decision.

On March 12, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeals opened an appeal proceeding on Medvedchuk’s complaint.

This information was revealed by the public initiative “Holka” from the text of the court ruling.

The panel of judges includes: Lyubov Kostiuk, Nataliia Buzhak, and Mykhailo Kobal.

Medvedchuk was deprived of the right to practice law by the decision of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Advocacy of Kyiv Region, to which lawyers Ilya Kostin and Roman Tytykalo appealed.

“We must realize that the Bar Association is still monopolized by Medvedchuk’s associates, and this monopoly is led by Lydia Izovitova. The European Commission’s report explicitly states that we need to change the legislation on the bar. I remind everyone that it was created during the time of the traitor Yanukovych and his sidekick Portnov, who were very happy about the law ‘On Advocacy’. And not for nothing. This law allows Medvedchuk’s associates to hold all lawyers hostage since 2012. And considering that our bar supplies personnel to the prosecutor’s office and the courts, we are also jeopardizing judicial reform. Changing the law is the task of the relevant committee chaired by Denis Maslov, but they haven’t even started this process,” emphasizes lawyer Ilya Kostin, who voluntarily joined the Armed Forces.

Recall that the public initiative “Holka” investigated the connections of Telegram channels and revealed a Kremlin network that discredits judicial reform and the civil sector that controls its implementation. The lawyer Rostyslav Kravets received the most reposts in this network, who appeared on the program “Snidanok 1+1” on March 14. Earlier, the same program invited MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, which caused outrage in the media community. Dubinsky is accused of state treason.
