A decision has appeared in the registry, requiring me to retract statements in my personal blog concerning the member of parliament from my district, Oleksandr Horobets (“Servant of the People”). I knew about this decision from sources before it appeared in the registry. I was warned:

“Fedoriv, they are preparing a very bad court decision against you.” My sources, with over 20 years of experience in the Ministry of Magic, have never let me down. For that, I am very grateful to them.

The decision has not yet come into force. It’s just my local Irpin City Court. We are awaiting the full text and preparing an appeal. But for now, we have the operative part to discuss, aside from the fact that I knew about the decision before it was officially issued;)

The most interesting part is that the decision does not require me to retract the statement:

“Karpliuk really wanted to become a member of parliament for the 95th district, but it was not meant to be. The ‘Servant of the People’ rating disrupted his plans. However, by 2019, it was clear that a tough district needed someone with guts. From the start, it was obvious that Horobets didn’t have any.”

It will be interesting to see if Horobets will appeal this. The court assessed the MP’s moral suffering at 1 hryvnia from each defendant, totaling 2 hryvnias.

In the meantime, I received a letter from Horobets. The envelope had two stamps featuring eggs… 😉 This is quite amusing.

The envelope containing the response from MP Horobets.

I submitted an information request to Horobets regarding the controversial bill he introduced (11185), to which I received a response. In this bill, a group of parliamentarians proposes to absolve developers of liability.

I had another important question for Horobets. I wanted to know which of his projects from the past year he considers reformative. The reason for this is that, according to calculations by VOX Ukraine, the MP from my district not only made it into the ranking of reformers for the year but actually topped this ranking. However, Horobets himself seems to have no idea what he has achieved and refuses to comment on the results from VOX Ukraine.

How did the MP comment on:
Oleksandr Horobets
Oleksandr Horobets
Member of Parliament (Servant of the People)
believe that it is not rational to comment on assumptions and subjective judgments. Assessing the criteria of the legislator rankings for 2023 applied by VOX Ukraine to determine the 'Reformer of the Year' is not within the competence of a Member of Parliament of Ukraine.

Excerpt from MP Horobets’ response to the civic initiative “Holka”:

“Imagine that a ranking is published on the official NGO website, and for the MP, it’s just a subjective opinion. But when the voter from his district, Irina Fedoriv (that’s me), writes a blog – Horobets doesn’t consider it evaluative judgments or subjective opinions…

Moreover, after I informed Horobets about this ranking on May 28, he thanked VOX Ukraine. He didn’t even hint that, in his opinion, it’s just a subjective judgment, as he writes in his response to the information request. Publicly, he calls the analysis… professional.

In the ‘Servant of the People’ post, it states that reforms are moving ‘step by step.'”

Well, as I mentioned before, we will proceed with the appeal.

However, just so you know, in Irpin court under the same judge, Yana Tretyak, another case against me is being considered, but this time it’s a lawsuit filed by the former mayor of Irpin, Volodymyr Karpliuk. He is concerned about the same issue as Horobets. The topic is the Bilichanskyy Forest.

Quite a thematic coincidence both in terms of topic and the judge at Irpin court. 😉

Especially for “Ukrayinska Pravda”.
