On April 22, International Mother Earth Day, the “Holka” civic initiative launched its Supervisory Board during a general meeting.

The Supervisory Board includes Serhiy Kvit, President of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; Anna Kyrii, Deputy Chair of the Architectural Chamber of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine and founder of the “Anna Kyrii Architectural and Project Group”; and Iryna Niehrieieva, an international aid program evaluation expert with over 25 years of professional experience.

The meeting took place at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

Iryna Fedoriv, Chair of the “Holka” civic initiative, emphasized:

The composition of our Supervisory Board ensures it will be anything but nominal. Serhiy Kvit, Anna Kyrii, and Iryna Niehrieieva have followed our team’s work since Holka's first year. These are people of integrity whom our team trusts to oversee the organization’s operations. If we ever falter—which is possible, as only those who do nothing make no mistakes—these are the individuals from whom we will accept a signal regarding 'red lines.' They have been supporting us with advice for years; finally, we have united them and institutionalized this strategic asset for Holka’s future development.

Marharyta Sytnyk, co-founder of Holka, noted that advice on institutional development has always been invaluable to the team:

We are grateful for the mentoring support in our project activities provided by Iryna Niehrieieva, who is always responsive and helpful. We also thank Anna Kyrii, who shapes the direction of our advocacy campaigns—most notably regarding the scandalous urban planning 'reform.' And, of course, we have valued Serhiy Kvit’s support since the organization’s inception. We thank every board member for agreeing to accompany us on our path to success.

Holka is a vibrant, powerful team of like-minded people and an example of a truly values-driven civic association striving for justice and democratic governance in Ukraine. Using their professional communication talents and skills, the team has repeatedly proven its ability to restore justice, including through partnership building. To be by their side and provide a 'safety net' during their flight is the least I can do for the sake of the changes we want to see in our country.

Anna Kyrii, who has collaborated with the organization on numerous advocacy campaigns, remarked:

This NGO and Ms. Iryna Fedoriv personally are always ready to help with matters of public importance. I will never forget our shared victory—stopping the infamous 'urban-rape' reform #5655. Now, we have hope for fair construction practices thanks to the development of the Urban Planning Code. I am honored to join the Supervisory Board, to serve as a 'tuning fork' on critical issues, and to give back to Holka with my own expertise and resources.

It was a great pleasure and honor to join this extraordinary community.
