Dmytro Tabachnyk’s associate, recently sentenced in absentia to 15 years for state treason, Olga Kravchenko, has been appointed as the Director of the Legal Department of the State Customs Service. This information became known to the public initiative ‘Holka.’
“Before the New Year, we wrote that there is an associate of Tabachnyk working in the Ministry of Infrastructure, who maintains communication with him and with whom Tabachnyk rested before the full-scale invasion in the United Arab Emirates. Moreover, it was Tabachnyk himself who lobbied for her appointment. Kravchenko was dismissed in December after a scandal erupted in the media. And at the beginning of the year, our sources reported that after this dismissal there would be a pause, and later Kravchenko would be appointed to this position in customs, where she would have access to state secrets. We wrote about this and continued to monitor the situation. And a few days ago, the appointment finally took place. It happened on April 10. The interesting thing here is the speed of the responses from the State Customs Service before and after the appointment. Since we knew the approximate date, we made control requests,” emphasized Iryna Fedoriv, the head of the public initiative ‘Holka’.

The State Customs Service of Ukraine responded very promptly to the information request on April 8. They provided a response the next day with a list of the entire department staff and indicated that as of April 9, the position of director of the legal department was still vacant.
“The speed here is quite understandable because they were trying to close this issue by April 10: the position is vacant and there are no communication risks. Our sources informed us that the appointment had already taken place. We waited exactly 1 day and sent another control request. And this time the response was not instantaneous – they dragged out the deadlines as much as possible. For comparison, in the response to the second request, it was only necessary to mention one surname – Olga Kravchenko. The text of the response, which took 5 days to prepare, consists of two short paragraphs,” – Fedoriv adds.

The public initiative ‘Holka’ received a copy of the order dated April 10, 2024, signed by the acting head of the State Customs Service, Serhiy Zviahintsev. The order states that a special check was conducted by the Ministry of Finance and there is a corresponding letter dated April 8.
Despite being officially in the position for a week, Kravchenko’s name is still not on the official website of the State Customs Service. In other words, without these information requests, the public would not have known about this personnel decision as of April 18.

Lawyer Ilya Kostin, who serves in the Main Department of Military Justice, has been fighting against the associates of Medvedchuk for years, who still monopolize power in the National Bar Association of Ukraine. He emphasizes that, according to the law, Kravchenko, who has taken up a leading position at the customs office, may gain access to state secrets:
“With her high position, she should be granted access to state secrets. This is stipulated by the Law ‘On State Secrets.’ The Security Service of Ukraine should conduct the verification.”
Recall that Kravchenko was dismissed from the Ministry of Infrastructure in December 2023 after it became known that she was the girlfriend of the state traitor Dmytro Tabachnyk. It was he who took care of her appointments to positions.
